There are many ways
to find God at St. Luke's
Many people just get out of the habit of going to church because church doesn't do much
for them. Maybe you know people like this. Maybe you have felt that way too. Maybe you quit attending church because ...
• The services were too long and boring
• Your kids said they don't
want to go back
• The sermons didn't matter to your daily life
• They seemed more interested in your money
than in you
• In your experience, many Christians don't accept people who have honest questions about God
You
say to yourself, there has to be more to church than this. In fact, it may not really be "church" you want, but a relationship
with God and with other Christians. At St. Luke’s we are determined to respond to people who are having these kinds
of thoughts and experiences.
In our continuing effort to "Welcome the faithful, the seeker and the doubter,
for God’s embrace is wide and God’s Good News is for All", St. Luke’s offers our 9:00 AM. This
service offers worship music featuring guitar and the piano. The weekly Messages (sermons)
is tailored for those who want to grow in their faith or delve deeper into the teachings of God in the Bible . The service offers
Communion and prayers for healing each week. The feel is informal and open to those who have not regularly attended church
in the recent past,
Our 8:30 AM worship services gives people who attend a chance to experience God
in a new way, featuring contemporary music and presentations of the Christian faith. The message may not have changed
much over 2000 years, but the way we experience it has. And we invite everyone to experience the difference being touched
by God's Spirit can make in their lives.
Our 10:30 Am Service uses the Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal. Music
accompaniment is provided by our marvelous organ and choir. Sunday School is offered during the 10:30 AM service.
Additionally we offer two opportunities for fellowship a month on Sunday evening
this fall. The Second and Fourth Sunday of each month will be St. Luke’s Parish Fun Nights. We gather in the
Parish Hall for a family game night, or for Bingo. We laugh , play agmes and get to know each other better as part of this
community of God's children, young and not so young.
These nights are a time to share fun and community and get to know each other
a little better outside of worship. On Monday Evenings in we gather for Bible Studies or topical series (in Advent
or Lent) to help those who want a more intellectual gathering time.
All this activity is for one purpose and for one purpose only. To create
time and space for people to get to know God through God’s people at St. Luke’s. To create new places and times
to invite you and the people you know into St. Luke’s and into communion with the body of Christ. As we continue to
reach out to seek and serve others in Christ's name, we want to offer various places to invite people along on the journey.
